The Kelvin Arms was established in 2000 as Houston's only Scottish pub. Located near the Rice Village at the intersection of Kelvin and Dunstan. They become known for the friendly environment and outgoing crowd of regulars, as well as their respectable selection of draft beers and exquisite scotches. This is not a "scene" bar. If you're looking for a bar that gives off the typical Rice Village-esque vibe then Kelvin Arms probably isn't a place you'll enjoy. In a nutshell, this is a super casual, laid-back Scottish pub.
it's a great place to gather a group of your friends and hang out. This place has a bit of a bar/pub-like feel blended with lounge. They have a vaulted section that is a bit more intimate. Overall, you have to love the fact that you have a Scotch bar right in the middle of Rice Village. Kelvin Arms has a relatively long presence in Houston and thankfully, it remains a nice place to visit for a rather toned down night out. |
